Oh Sarah….

So the other day I came across an open directory of like 1800+ songs. Mainly it was rap with a few other things in there. I went ahead and DL’d all of them and for the past week I’ve been listening to a plethora of new rap as background music at work. There are a few really good songs in there that get me pumped up. There are a few that are just lame, and then there’s this one:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

I was sitting there and then started hearing Sarah Palin talk about “laying pipe” and this guy rapping about it. It was one of the funniest songs I’ve heard. I reckon there isn’t much people won’t sing/rap about these days. It’s not the most bizzare rap song I’ve heard, but it certainly was one of the more entertaining.

Politics and me don’t mix

If this week has done anything, it has reminded me how much I hate politics. With the exception of breakfast with Kara this morning today has been a complete and total disaster. A social experiment on my part, that just kinda sucked. If only my whole day could’ve been spent having that breakfast, the day would’ve been so teh roxxor!

First off, I did some research on the candidates, not much, but some. I had a basic understanding of policies and ideas. I got up this morning, went to the polls stood in line for 30 minutes only to discover that I was not in their computer deal. Not only was I not in the computer, but I wasn’t in the 2 books of people they had, and had in fact been deleted from the system due to inactivity. Despite this, I pushed on, did my provisional voting, got my sticker and headed out.

I get to work and it’s VOTE VOTE MCCAIN OBAMA CHANE VOTE CHANGE MAVERICK VOTE CHANGE WAR VOTE CHANGE OBAMA MCCAIN!!!!! Everyone’s up in arms (well, everyone but McCain seeing as he can’t really be “up” in arms) over everything. If anyone voices an opinion someone has a snarky remark to dispute it. Like Kit, I’m ready for this mess to be over.

Yesterday I got 3 “new websites” and I intend on hanging on to them, but I’ll just keep them directed where they are. I have no intention on putting any political views or opinions up. I just thought they were funny to have, nothing more really.

So if you’ve voted for McCain I support you, if you’ve voted for Obama, I support you, If you wrote your own name on the thing and voted for yourself, awesome job! I think Maggie’s post said it best “I feel like I’m being forced to choose between Pepsi and Coke when all I want is water. A nice tall glass of cold, filtered water.” This is so very true. I just want something else.

That’s my stance and hopefully will be my last post about the election. I’ll go ahead and congratulate the winner of the election. May your leadership over the next 4 years drive our country in the right direction. I know you are much more qualified than I to make that decision.

New site!

I’m happy to introduce my new site: http://www.barackpaperfire.info/.
It’s full of great information. Check it out!

Edit: Reason for buying barackpaperfire.info, it just sounded cooler than rockpalinfire.info. And if I could’ve come up with a clever spin on McCain’s name for a URL, I probably would’ve got that too.

Happy voting everyone!

One of the reason's I've not voted in the past

3:36pm Craig:
really sad for you to vote for socialism
sadi day when my friends see that as the only way

3:38pm Ben:
so here’s my story. originally i had no intention on voting, then i was really only going to vote for barack because i wanted to be part of history by voting for a black president, now i am only voting for him because i don’t want to vote for palin. i will be the first to admit that i am NOT a person who should vote at all.
i value everyone’s opinion and don’t really have an adverse reaction one way or the other.

3:39pm Craig:
wow, you are just the kind of person that the Obama ticket wnats

3:39pm Ben:
yes, you are correct.
and that’s why i will most likely not actually vote at all.

3:40pm Craig:
thanks God

3:40pm Ben:
and in doing so will relinquish my say in politics for the next 4 years

3:40pm Craig:
haha

3:40pm Ben:
i’ve never been one to vote and only got involved because of the mass media coverage and everything that seems to be going around this time.

3:41pm Craig:
well i will pay you not to vote if that helps
haha

3:41pm Ben:
no need my friend. no need. however, if the mood strikes in the morning, i may vote.
i hate that i will be forever labeled as one way or the other because i vote

3:42pm Craig:
that is the way that it works unfortunatly

3:43pm Ben:
and that’s why i’ve never voted before
i want to only to be part of history (it will happen one way or the other), but i want to be able to remove the label from myself after the fact. unfortunately, i don’t see that as a possibility.

3:45pm Ben:
but i do value your point of view 100% w/o question.

3:45pm Craig:
just a scary sight is all

3:46pm Ben:
imo, both are. but that’s just my opinion. either way, after tomorrow, things will change.

3:48pm Craig:
indeed

I finally get out there and make a choice and I get the smack. Well, I’m gonna stick with my decision and vote for Barack. I have no idea the policies or anything really. I have me. I have my opinion, I have my vote. I’ve never exercised it in the past and I’ve kept my mouth shut about politics. I’ve not brought it up or complained or anything. And you know what, if the next 4 years suck my ass raw then I’ll be able to say that I made a bad decision and people can hate on me. Either way, I will have done what was right for me.
