Le Spooky de la Towne

So Halloween has come and gone and oh what a great one it was. It’s always been my favorite “holiday” and this year was no exception.

For the past few years I’ve been collecting pieces from Spooky Town. With the sale of the house I couldn’t really put them out for display, but now that I’m in an apartment, I can put anything out I want. So when Oct rolled around it was time to load up the car with all my stuff from my parents house and decorate my house to the gills…Halloween style!

It certainly was nice to finally be able to decorate and put all this stuff out. I really felt at home once everything was out and lit up. I had almost forgotten how fun it was and how much I enjoyed this part of the season. So that was that, Spooky Town and all my other decorations went up and and the Sniper’s first Halloween was all set. We meant to get more pics of the house, but we have many, many, many more years to take care of that. For now, these pics will have to do.

Up next is Thanksgiving. I’m really looking forward to some family time with Jess and Chase. I can’t wait to have them around for decorating my grandmother’s fence (family tradition) and all the other festivities that come with the holiday season. Stay tuned, more to come.

:)

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween SniperFans! And for us…it was our first! :) We had Chase for the weekend, and we spent it in Dunwoody with some of SniperBen’s family. It was a rainy weekend, so we skipped on trick or treating and went to a festival at Dylan’s (SB’s nephew) school. My little vampire ran around and had a blast, and I got to meet SB’s brother and sister! After the games, we had a dinner at a place that SB and I went to a long time ago and had some fantastic bbq. After putting the little blood sucker to bed, we watched none other than…Halloween! We’ve made it to Halloween H20 and it was the perfect Halloween night movie! It was a fantastic first Halloween. I’m going to miss the Spookytown decor around the apartment (pics coming soon!)…but Thanksgiving and Christmas are on the way! Lots more firsts on the way for the snipers. :)

Weekend recap, and other such nonsense

Well, my Saturday didn’t really pan out like I had planned. As it turns out I wasn’t needed for the grass cutting thing afterall. Oh well, I reckon that’s the price I pay for selling the house. It all worked out for the best anyway. Someone wanted to see the house and I used the time I had to make it even more clean. I also took some pictures and posted them on the photos page.

After cleaning up, I head out to Target to pick up some essentials (video games, printers, Halloween candy, toothpicks, butter, and 2 cases of Arbor Mist). Wait…it was more like cat food and something to fix for lunch. Speaking of Halloween candy Hiram now has it’s very own Halloween store. I guess the Goody’s that was there just couldn’t cut it. Too bad that I won’t be able to load up on stuff this year. Seeing as the house is STILL on the market I won’t be able to decorate like I have in years past. That totally sucks, but it’s the price I pay I reckon.

After I got home, I watched some TV, had some lunch, and decided to go for a bike ride. It’s been for ever since I’ve been riding, but figured it was long over due. So I kicked the tires, lit the fires and headed out. Managed to go about 16 miles (roughly 8 there and 8 back), before my ass was too sore to continue. I even manage to snap a pic to prove that I made it out that far.

I really did enjoy being out, just riding around not worrying about stuff. I’ll probably head back out again this week. I think I need to take my bike in to have it worked on. That and I want to get the odometer to work so I can track this mug.

Saturday night my original plans didn’t really pan out. I was supposed to be going to dinner, but they got sick and I had to make alt plans. No worries, as luck would have it Jon was at Taco Mac downtown watching the games. I headed down that way and proceed to have a blast with seemingly hundreds of people that were crammed into that place. This is the first year I’ve really watched football to this capacity, and I have to say that I’m really enjoying it. Two weeks now I’ve watched multiple games on Saturday. For all you nay-sayers, I can follow a game and I know what’s going on. As far as a favorite team…I kinda go with who ever I’m with. Jon happens to support USC to the maxXxtreme so I was pulling for them. Luckily they demolished Ohio State. Go Trojans!

After the games, we headed over to The Vortex for some more drinking, grilled cheese with bacon sandwiches, and more football. Jon faded quick (he had been drinking for 12+ hours straight), so we headed up to his place where he proceeded to talk to one of my friends on the phone. It was quite entertaining. She was quite surprised at some of the things Jon had to say. Shortly there after, he passed out and I took up refuge on the love seat. I was going to take the couch, but he was all kinds of sprawled out, so that wasn’t going to happen. I left his bed open incase he got up and tried to get in there. This too didn’t happen. Instead the bed was open and he was on the couch and I was on the most uncomfortable love seat ever crafted. Sunday morning my neck hurt like a mutha, but it was still worth it to get out.

For the most part Sunday was pretty chillax. I watched some TV, had some pink taco’s, watched some more TV, and generally didn’t do a whole lot. I was going to meet up with Jon at Varners (formally Uncle Bud’s Catfish House), but seeing as me and every gas station for like 10 miles was out of gas, I decided to make some food stuffs at home. Burgers were on the menu, and I didn’t dissapoint. This damn things was mighty tasty. Too bad no one was there to enjoy it with me.

That was pretty much it. Not too much going on, just kinda fartin’ around and haning out with friends. I have a new appreciation for cozy bike seats and late night grilled cheeses.

This week is shaping up to be pretty awesome. Just gotta get through today.
